Four-star running back Trey Sermon has committed to Oklahoma, he announced Friday on Twitter.

“After a long talk with my family I decided to commit to the University of Oklahoma,” Sermon tweeted.

The Marietta, Ga. native is the top-ranked running back in his state and 16th-overall in the class of 2017, according to

Sermon chose the Sooners over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame, among several others. He is Oklahoma’s 12th commit​ in its 2017 recruiting class.

Oklahoma advanced to the 2015 College Football Playoff and finished the season 11–2.
