Ray Lewis III has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct following an incident that took place Jan. 23.

Lewis, the son of former Ravens star linebacker Ray Lewis and a cornerback at Coastal Carolina, allegedly sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman at an apartment in Conway, S.C., according to arrest warrants. Lewis is accused of engaging in sexual battery with a woman who was incapacitated under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

Police told reporters that an investigation began immediately following the incident. After medical reports, lab results and victim statements were gathered, warrants were issued for Lewis’s arrest. Lewis turned himself in to police on Friday. The case remains under investigation.

Lewis played two seasons at Miami, where his father played, before transferring to Coastal Carolina, where he played in 12 games last season.
