Sophomore quarterback Nick Johns has announced his decision to transfer from Virginia, he said on Twitter.

No decision has been made on his next school. He did not play last season and was not being considered for next year's starting job after the team's spring.

The Cavaliers granted Johns his unrestricted release. Last month, Virginia granted offensive lineman Grant Polk his own release,

Johns was recruited out of Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C. by former coach Mike London, who was dismissed in November. The team hired Bronco Mendenhall out of BYU in December and will be entering his first full season at the helm.
