Former Ohio State center Daniel Giddens will transfer to Alabama, he announced Sunday.

A rising sophomore, Giddens played in 33 games for the Buckeyes last season, averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds. A Georgia-native, Giddens was a four-star recruit coming out of Oak Hill academy, according to Scout.com.

Giddens made the move so he could be closer to his hometown, which is a three-hour drive from Alabama’s campus, according to Cleveland.com.

He is one of four players to transfer from the program, along with Austin Grandstaff (Oklahoma), Mickey Mitchell (UC Santa Barbara) and A.J Harris (undecided).
