Five-star center Omer Yurtseven commits to N.C. State

Turkish center Omer Yurtseven, a five-star prospect in the class of 2016, has verbally committed to N.C. State, according to

“They have had a Turkish player (Egin Atsur) before and I heard that it was all good for him,” Yurtseven said. “They have a pretty good team. They are on the edge and above average and they need another guy to take them up. They needed another guy.”

Yurtseven was also considering Syracuse and Utah as well as a professional contract to play for Fenerbahçe in Turkey. He told that he never accepted any money to turn professional and decided to keep his NCAA eligibility.

He is coming off a 91-point and 28-rebound performance in a U-18 league game over the weekend.

Yurtseven is the second five-star prospect to commit to the Wolf Pack after guard Dennis Smith. now puts the N.C. State 2016 recruiting class at No. 6 in the country.
