CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) North Carolina says Justin Jackson is pulling out of the NBA Draft and will return to the Tar Heels for his junior season.

Jackson said in a statement issued Monday night by the school that he was glad to ''test my game against some of the top players in the country'' but says his ''best choice'' is to return to UNC.

Jackson has averaged 11.5 points while starting 75 of 78 games during his two seasons with the Tar Heels, who won the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament before advancing to the NCAA championship game.

Coach Roy Williams said Jackson ''certainly did the right thing'' by going through the NBA Draft process, that included a combine in Chicago, saying it helped him make a complete decision.
