Butler coach Chris Holtmann has agreed to a contract extension through 2022, the university announced Wednesday.

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Holtmann has posted a 45–22 record in his two seasons at the helm of Butler’s program, while leading the Bulldogs to two straight NCAA tournaments.

“This extension shows the commitment that both Chris and the University are making to the success of our men’s basketball program on and off the court,“ Butler athletic director Barry Collier said in a statement. “Chris has led our team to significant accomplishments on the court these past two seasons, while also providing outstanding leadership as a key member of the Butler community.”

Butler finished the 2015–16 season with a 22–11 record. The Bulldogs advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament, before falling to Virginia, 77–69.
