Former Texas Tech starting quarterback Davis Webb is transferring to Cal and will be eligible immediately, reports FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman.

Webb has 46 touchdowns in his career. He decided to leave Lubbock after losing his starting job to Patrick Mahomes.

Texas Tech finished the season with a 7–6 record and a 56-27 loss to LSU in the Texas Bowl. His best performance came at the 2013 Holiday Bowl, where the Red Raiders upset the Arizona State Sun Devils and he threw for over 400 yards.

Webb was also considering Colorado. He will work with former Texas Tech offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes at Cal.
