Alabama has offered a scholarship to eighth-grade linebacker Jesus Machado of Hialeah (Fla.) Champagnat Catholic School, according to Derek Tyson of ESPN.com.

Machado is listed at 6'1" and 191 pounds, according to his Scout.com profile.

The Crimson Tide are not the first college program with interest in Machado, as he holds verbal offers from Iowa State, Michigan State, NC State and West Virginia. Verbal offers are nonbinding between athletes and college programs. High school athletes can not be officially offered until they are seniors.

Machado will be a part of the 2020 signing class for his school of choice.
