Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw has resigned amid controversy over the school’s handling of sexual assault allegations, the school announced Monday.

McCaw is the third high-profile Baylor official to lose his job in the wake of the scandal. Head football coach Art Briles was fired last week and school president Ken Starr was demoted to chancellor.

Last week, an independent report completed by the Pepper Hamilton law firm found that the football program and athletic department had failed in its handling of a number of sexual assault and domestic violence cases involving football players.

McCaw had been with the school since September 2003 and oversaw a period of tremendous on-field success for the football and men’s basketball programs.
