UAB defensive coordinator Duwan Walker has resigned, reports AL.com’s Drew Champlin.

Walker, who had been with the Blazers since 2014 when the program was canceled by the university, stepped away from his post with the team to pursue a career in business.

“It’s bittersweet but I couldn’t be happier for him,” UAB head coach Bill Clark told AL.com. “Personally, you can’t replace a guy like Duwan.”

David Reeves, who had previously served as the team’s defensive line coach, will now serve as its defensive coordinator in Walker’s absence.

Walker’s resignation marks the Blazers’ second coaching staff change in the past month, as offensive line coach Mike Bennefield resigned in early May.
