Four-star linebacker Markail Benton has committed to Alabama, he announced during a ceremony at his high school on Friday.
“I would like to thank the schools that have recruited me,” Benton told the crowd during the ceremony. “It was a very hard decision to decide, but I think I’ve found the right school for me to further my education and play football. Every child should have that dream to be successful in life.
“My decision is, as you all should see, the University of Alabama. Roll Tide.”
Benton, Scout.com’s sixth-ranked linebacker in the class of 2017, chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Auburn and Florida State, among several others.
