The Great Mascot Debate: Final Four

Less than one percent of the 450-plus Division III institutions remain standing.
The Great Mascot Debate has reached the Final Four after more than 36,000 votes were cast in the Elite Eight.
All four matchups were decided by less than 10 percentage points, with the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels' 52-48 victory over the feisty Prairie Fire of Knox College being the closest. Fellow No. 1 seed UC-Santa Cruz and their beloved Banana Slug mascot also advanced to the national semifinals by ending the Cinderella dreams of the No. 7 Hamilton Continentals.
In the East Region, top seed Sarah Lawrence wasn't so lucky. The Gryphons fell to the Sweet Briar Vixens by more than 1,000 votes (55 to 45 percent) in arguably the biggest upset of the round. And out west, the Alfred Saxons' run continued with a 55-45 win over the Concordia Cobbers, giving them a third straight upset win after knocking off the third-seeded Coe Kohawks and second-seeded Webster Gorloks in the first and second round, respectively.
Fans will now vote to send either the Banana Slugs or Vixens to the ship from the left side of the bracket, and the Stormy Petrels or Saxons from the right side.
Voting ends at 11:30 ET on Tuesday, June 21.
