Former Baylor signee Kameron Martin will join Auburn as an incoming freshman after Baylor released him from his national letter of intent last week, he announced on Twitter.

Scout.com ranks the four-star running back as the No. 112 player in the recruiting class of 2016, the No. 6 player at his position and the No. 1 running back recruit in Texas.

Baylor released five 2016 signees from their national letters of intent last Thursday, allowing them to join other programs without NCAA penalty. Wide receiver Devin Duvernay has already committed to Texas, and receiver Tren’Davian Dickson has said he intends to transfer to Houston.

The players requested permission to leave Baylor after head coach Art Briles was suspended with intent to terminate last month in the wake of a wide-ranging sexual assault scandal at the school, which included numerous football players. Briles was officially terminated on Friday.

Baylor, Art Briles mutually agree to part ways

Baylor’s 2016 recruiting class, which was once ranked No. 20, has now dropped to No. 41.
