Five-star recruit Michael Porter Jr. commits to Washington

Michael Porter Jr. has decided to play for the Washington Huskies next season.

Michael Porter Jr., the No. 5 ranked recruit in the class of 2017, has committed to Washington, he announced on Twitter. 

His father, Michael Porter Sr., was recently hired as an assistant on Lorenzo Romar's coaching staff. Romar is also Porter Jr.'s godfather.

Porter Jr. was also reportedly considering Indiana, Missouri, Virginia and Oklahoma before electing to follow his father to Seattle.

He is ranked No. 1 at small forward in his recruiting class, according to Scout.com.

Porter Jr.'s younger brother, Jontay, is a four-star prospect in the class of 2018 and has already given his own verbal commitment to join the Huskies.
