The girlfriend of dismissed Ohio State running back Bri'onte Dunn is accusing him of hitting her, reportsThe Columbus Dispatch.

Dunn was released from the football program Monday for what coach Urban Meyer called a violation of team rules. The Dispatch reports Dunn was let go because of an incident involving his girlfriend that occurred Sunday.

Dunn’s girlfriend called the police, saying “my boyfriend hit me really bad.” The woman is accusing Dunn striking her in the mouth and choking her. She told police Dunn left her with a bloody lip and black eye. 

The woman filed a protection order against Dunn on Monday, but no criminal charges were filed as of Tuesday night. 

Dunn, who graduated in May, was entering his fifth season in the Buckeyes program before his dismissal.
