SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Suspended Utah receiver Cory Butler-Byrd has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief after authorities say he damaged a university police patrol car and building last month.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2bHUygr ) Butler-Byrd's guilty plea is part of a deal with prosecutors that allows the senior to have his record cleared if he has no additional criminal charges in the next year, undergoes mental health counseling and pays about $1,700 in restitution.

University police said in court documents that they found a window to the campus police office shattered and a patrol car outside with a broken rear windshield and dented roof. Police say Butler-Byrd was outside and told officers he damaged the car and building.

Coach Kyle Whittingham has suspended Butler-Byrd indefinitely.
