Former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian will join the Alabama coaching staff as an offensive analyst, Nick Saban announced on Monday.
Sarkisian was fired by USC last October after checking into rehab to seek treatment for an alcohol problem. He is suing the school for wrongful termination.
Sarkisian joins a Crimson Tide offensive staff led by offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin. Kiffin, also a former USC head coach, was a member of the Trojans’ offensive staff while Sarkisian was the school’s quarterbacks coach.
Sarkisian’s first head coaching job was with Washington in 2009. He stayed with the Huskies through the 2013 season, before leaving to take the head job at USC.
He was reportedly hired to be an analyst for Fox Sports 1 before the season.
