Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz receives contract extension, pay raise
Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz has received a pay raise and contract extension that will keep him at the school through the 2026 season, the school announced on Tuesday.
The school says that Ferentz will earn $4.5 million each season, up from the $4.075 million he made last season.
Ferentz and the members of his staff will also receive bonuses based on performance.
"I am pleased and proud to continue as head coach of the University of Iowa football team through 2026," Ferentz said in a statement. "It is a tremendous privilege and responsibility to lead the Iowa football program. I am extraordinarily proud of our program, our players, and our supportive fans. I appreciate the trust and confidence demonstrated by Athletic Director Gary Barta and President Bruce Harreld – and I look forward to continuing our winning tradition."
Ferentz, 61, is a four-time Big Ten coach of the year and has complied a 128–87 in 18 seasons at Iowa.
His teams have won six bowl games in his tenure, although the Hawkeyes have lost their last three bowl appearances, including a 45–16 Rose Bowl rout at the hands of Stanford last season.
