Minnesota reinstates Reggie Lynch to roster

Minnesota junior center Reggie Lynch has been reinstated to the team, after his arrest this spring on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct didn't produce charges.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Minnesota junior center Reggie Lynch has been reinstated to the team, after his arrest this spring on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct didn't produce charges.

The Gophers confirmed Thursday that Lynch has returned from the suspension that was issued after he was jailed briefly following the May 8 incident. The Hennepin County Attorney's office declined to take the case, citing insufficient evidence proving a crime was committed.

The 6-foot-9 Lynch, who played at Edina High School in suburban Minneapolis, sat out last season per NCAA rule following his transfer from Illinois State.

For Illinois State, Lynch led the Missouri Valley Conference in blocked shots as both a freshman and a sophomore, averaging 2.8 per game. In the 2014-15 season, he averaged 9.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 22.2 minutes.
