Clemson’s Ray Ray McCloud drops ball before goal line on punt return

Ray Ray McCloud had a sure touchdown, but then he dropped the ball.

Clemson’s Ray Ray McCloud had an impressive punt return touchdown wiped off the board after replays showed he dropped the ball before crossing the goal line. 

McCloud fielded a bouncing punt during Saturday’s game against Troy and found a large seam in the middle of the field. A touchdown would have given the Tigers a two-possession lead, but McCloud celebrated prematurely. 

McCloud’s return was 76 yards, but instead of a touchdown it was a touchback for the Trojans. 

Thanks to McCloud’s blunder, the Tigers carried just a three-point lead into the half.
