The Tide received 56 first-place votes, while Florida State received four and Michigan got one.

After squeezing past Troy, 30–24, Clemson fell from the No. 2 spot and was replaced by Florida State. Georgia’s close call against Nicholls State caused the Bulldogs to drop from No. 9 to No. 16.

Florida and Arkansas enter the rankings for the fist time this season, at No. 23 and No. 24, respectively.

After losing in controversial fashion to Central Michigan, Oklahoma State dropped out of the rankings.
