(STATS) - Second-ranked Richmond will be without starting running back Gordon Collins the remainder of the season because of a right hip injury suffered in a game Saturday.

Collins, a junior, was injured on a 5-yard screen pass during the CAA Football team's 34-0 non-conference win over Norfolk State.

He leads the team with 130 rushing yards and has scored one touchdown. Freshman Xavier Goodall and redshirt freshmen Deontez Thompson and Jay Palmer are expected to see more carries as a result of Collins' injury.

"Those guys will work their butts off to do anything they can to help the team win. That's what this group is all about. We want to win," Collins wrote in a post on the Richmond athletics website.

The Spiders are off to their first 2-0 start since 2011 and will open up conference play at Stony Brook this weekend.
