Baylor coach Jim Grobe: 'I don't know who Shawn Oakman is'
Baylor football head coach Jim Grobe was asked about former football player Shawn Oakman's appearance in the locker room, but he claimed he didn't know the former Bears defensive end.
"I don't know who Shawn Oakman is," Grobe told reporters.
Oakman, who was arrested in April and later indicted by a grand jury on charges of second-degree felony sexual assault, was spotted in the stands and the Bears locker room. He reportedly spoke to the players but his speech was not shared with the media.
Later on Monday, the university said in a statement that Oakman wasn’t invited into the locker room.
Oakman went undrafted despite holding the school's all-time sacks record.

Former Baylor head coach Art Briles was also in attendance on Saturday. Briles lost his job in wake of Baylor's sexual assault scandal, in which an investigation found the university administration and football program failed to take action on multiple sexual assault incidents involving multiple Baylor football players. Briles officially parted ways with the school in June.
