Quarterback Greg Ward Jr. will lead No. 6 Houston against UConn at home Thursday, as the Cougars try to keep their playoff hopes alive with an undefeated season.
Ward Jr. has thrown for 936 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions this season. On the opposite side of the field will be UConn's Bryant Shirreffs, who has thrown for 819 yards, two touchdowns and two picks.
UConn (2-2) is coming off of a 31-24 loss to Syracuse. The team has wins over Maine and Virginia this season.
Houston (4-0) beat Texas State 64-3 last week. Houston doesn't play a ranked opponent until Nov. 17, when the Cougars will face No. 3 Louisville.
