CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina junior swingman Theo Pinson is out indefinitely with a broken bone in his right foot.

In a news release Friday, the school said Pinson was hurt in practice this week. UNC says a treatment plan “is currently being reviewed” for Pinson.

Pinson is a top defender, good passer and versatile wing for the Tar Heels, who won the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season and tournament titles before losing in the NCAA championship game.

In a statement, coach Roy Williams said “hopefully we can get him back before the end of the season” but added “there is no timetable” because UNC is still consulting with medical personnel.
