CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) An attorney who helped represent former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky at his child sex abuse trial has been sentenced to 20 months in prison on federal tax evasion charges.

Karl Rominger (ROH'-mihn-jur) was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in July to tax evasion and failure to file tax returns. He was ordered to pay $318,000 in restitution.

Rominger was part of Sandusky's legal team. He'll serve the time after finishing a 5 1/2- to 18-year term imposed after he pleaded guilty in May in Cumberland County in the theft of $767,000 from clients.

The 43-year-old Carlisle man apologized to the court, the United States and all his other victims. He says he has ''a lot of money to pay back.''

Sandusky was convicted but says he's innocent.
