Oklahoma is still in the hunt for a conference title and will be look for an easier time on defense as it goes up against Kansas at home.

The Sooners have won 11 straight Big 12 games and also have beaten the Jayhawks 11 times in a row.

Last week, Oklahoma won a 66–59 shootout over Texas Tech, in which both teams set an NCAA record with 1,708 yards of combined total offense. The Oklahoma defense gave up 734 passing yards to Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tying an NCAA record. 

The Sooners also became the first team in NCAA history to have a 500 yards passer (Baker Mayfield), a receiver who gained 200 yards (Dede Westbrook) and have a 200 yard rusher (Joe Mixon) in the same game.

The Jayhawks (1–6, 0–4 Big 12) lost 44–20 against Oklahoma State in its last outing, their sixth straight loss.

Kansas is last in the Big 12 in scoring and rushing offense and has lost 38 straight true road games. Their last road victory came against UTEP on Sept. 12, 2009.
