The first edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings were released on Tuesday evening with the Alabama Crimson Tide on top.

Alabama won last year's national title and remains undefeated on the season with an 8–0 record. Alabama will face LSU on the road on Saturday night.

Clemson is also undefeated at 8–0 and looks to cruise to the ACC title. Dabo Swinney's squad reached the national championship last year.

Jim Harbaugh is just in his second year with the Michigan Wolverines but already has them on the verge of making their first College Football Playoff appearance, if they can get past their meeting with Ohio State on Nov. 26.

Texas A&M (7–1) is ranked fourth, ahead of undefeated Washington, despite having one loss on the season, which came against Alabama.
