San Jose State beats NCCAA West Coast Baptist 109-70

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) E.J. Boyce scored 20 points off the bench and led seven players in double figures as San Jose State posted a 109-70 win over West Coast Baptist of the National Christian College Athletic Association in a season opener on Saturday.

Boyce sank six 3-pointers for the Spartans. Terrell Brown added 14 points, Jalen James 13, Ryan Welage and Jaycee Hillsman 12 apiece, and Brandon Clarke and Isaiah Nichols 10 each. Hillsman had six rebounds and Clarke four rebounds with three assists.

The Spartans averaged 56.3 percent shooting from the field and 69.4 percent from the line.

Boyce drained a trio of 3-pointers within a minute late in the first period to help boost the Spartans to a 61-35 lead at the break. They never looked back.

Imaan Vicente led West Coast Baptist with 17 points. Daniel Foster added 12 points, eight boards and seven assists.
