Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops featured on first episode of the Seth Davis Podcast

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops joins Sports Illustrated senior writer Seth Davis for the first episode of Davis's new podcast, the Seth Davis Podcast.

In his 18 seasons at Oklahoma, Bob Stoops has established himself as one of the most successful head coaches in the country. Stoops has led the Sooners to 187 wins, nine conference championships and one national title. After guiding Oklahoma to the College Football Playoff last season, Stoops has his team in contention to return to the national semifinals this season. Entering Saturday’s crucial road game against No. 16 West Virginia, No. 11 Oklahoma is 8–2 with a perfect 7–0 mark in Big 12 play.

Stoops joined Sports Illustrated senior writer Seth Davis for the first episode of Davis’s new podcast, the Seth Davis Podcast. Though most of Davis's work for SI focuses on college basketball and he appears on CBS as well as Campus Insiders as a college basketball analyst, the show will feature interviews with coaches, players and other notable figures across the sports world.

In a wide-ranging conversation, Davis and Stoops discuss what the Oklahoma coach has learned from the Baylor sexual assault scandal, his opinion on what changes should be made to college sports and his views on the Big 12’s viability in the playoff landscape without a conference championship game. “It obviously didn’t hurt us a year ago, did it?” Stoops says.
