Penn, Princeton headline All-Ivy football

(STATS) - Co-champions Penn and Princeton led the way on the All-Ivy League football team with six first-team selections each, and Princeton's Bob Surace was a unanimous choice for the coach of the year award.

Dartmouth wide receiver and return specialist Hunter Hagdorn was named the league's rookie of the year.

The finalists for 2016 Asa S. Bushnell Cup, which recognizes the Ivy League's offensive and defensive players of the year, will be announced on Nov. 29. The winners will be unveiled on Dec. 5.

Penn's first-team selections consisted of two seniors, quarterback Alek Torgersen and offensive lineman Nick Demes; three juniors, running back Tre Solomon, wide receiver Justin Watson and defensive end Louis Vecchio; and one sophomore, defensive back Mason Williams.

Princeton's first-team selections were three seniors, linebacker Luke Catarius and defensive backs James Gales (New York) and Dorian Williams, and three juniors, running back John Lovett, offensive lineman Mitchell Sweigart and defensive lineman Kurt Holuba.

Both teams shared the league title with 6-1 record. Princeton went 8-2 overall and Penn was 7-3.
