(STATS) - North Dakota's Bubba Schweigert was named the Big Sky Coach of the Year after leading the Fighting Hawks to an 8-0 record in the conference and the seventh seed in the FCS playoffs.

Schweigert took over a program that went 3-8 in 2013, and has improved its win total by two victories in each of his three seasons. North Dakota started this season 0-2 but enters the playoffs riding a nine-game winning streak - the second-longest active run in the FCS.

The Fighting Hawks had the conference's top-ranked scoring defense (21.5 points per game) and rushing defense (91.5 yards per game) and were led by Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year Cole Reyes. North Dakota had four players named to the Big Sky first team.
