A close, emotional loss led to a brief confrontation between Michigan star Jabrill Peppers and an Ohio State fan on Saturday.

Fans rushed the field in Columbus after the Buckeyes pulled out an epic double overtime win that could send Ohio State to the College Football Playoff and likely eliminated Michigan from playoff contention.

It’s unclear exactly what happened to cause the altercation, but the fan appeared to stumble into Peppers’ path, seemingly upsetting the Wolverines’ defensive ace. It’s not clear if words were exchanged.

That appeared to be the extent of the incident, and an Ohio State coach was able to calm Peppers down quickly and move things along.
