YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) Eastern Michigan is going to a bowl game for the first time since 1987.

The Popeyes Bahamas Bowl said Tuesday that the Eagles have accepted an invitation to the Dec. 23 game, where they will play Old Dominion in Nassau in a game aired on ESPN.

The Eagles won a single game last season but are 7-5 this year in one of the biggest turnarounds in the country. Eastern Michigan will finish with a winning record for the first time since 1995 and will make just its second bowl appearance after beating San Jose State in the California Bowl 29 years ago.

Eastern Michigan has played Old Dominion (9-3) twice in the past three seasons and lost both games (17-3 in 2014, 38-34 in 2015).
