Portland State sets future FBS opponents

(STATS) - A first-ever game against an SEC opponent was one of the future FBS matchups that Portland State announced Wednesday.

The Big Sky Conference program, which announced its 2017 schedule with season-opening games at BYU (Aug. 26) and Oregon State (Sept. 2), will visit Arkansas on Aug. 31, 2019.

Other future road games against FBS opponents: 2018, at Nevada (Sept. 1) and Oregon (Sept. 8); 2020, Arizona (Sept. 12); 2021, Hawaii (Sept. 4); 2022, San Jose State (Sept. 3); and 2023, Oregon (Sept. 2) and Wyoming (Sept. 9).

Like the Arkansas game, Portland State will be playing Arizona and Wyoming for the first time.

The Vikings, who finished 3-8 under second-year coach Bruce Barnum this year, will be playing multiple programs in the same season for the eighth time in 2017. They announced additional FBS opponents will be added in the 2019-22 seasons.
