N. Florida uses big run to down Thomas (GA) 110-80

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Dallas Moore scored 30 points and handed out 11 assists and Wajid Aminu scored 24 points and collected 11 rebounds as North Florida beat NAIA-member Thomas 110-80 on Thursday night.

The win ended North Florida's six-game losing streak.

The Nighthawks - from Georgia - proved feisty in the first half and lead 45-42 at the break.

North Florida (4-9) outscored Thomas 35-12 during a second-half stretch taking an 83-63 lead with 6:18 to play. Garrett Sams hit a 3 and Aminu made a pair of free throws to put the Ospreys up 53-52 with 13:35 remaining and they never trailed again.

The Ospreys got 11 points and 11 rebounds from Romel Banks and Sams added 23 points and six rebounds. North Florida entered the game averaging 18.9 turnovers per game but committed just 13 against Thomas.

Javoris Cooks poured in a game-high 33 points for the Nighthawks and Katrell Myers added 17 points for Thomas.
