Providence uses 31-0 run to win 76-54 over Wagner

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Jalen Lindsey had three 3-pointers and scored 16 points and Providence defeated Wagner 76-54 on Saturday for the Friars' fifth straight win.

Wagner (3-6) never recovered from a nearly 13-minute scoreless span in the first half. Leading 10-4, the Seahawks went 0 for 16 with seven turnovers. During that time, the Friars (9-2) went on a 31-0 run with nine points by Lindsey and seven from Alpha Diallo.

Providence opened the second half with a 3-pointer by Lindsey and a bucket from Rodney Bullock to go up 30, 50-20. The Seahawks didn't get closer than 28 after that until the final minute.

Emmitt Holt added 11 points and Kyron Cartwright had 11 assists, one shy of his career high, for the Friars.

Elijah Davis had 13 points and nine rebounds for Wagner, which shot just 25 percent in the first half and finished at 33.3 percent.
