Malik Monk’s 47 points help Kentucky take down North Carolina
Kentucky freshman Malik Monk set a record with his 47-point performance against North Carolina on Saturday, and helped the No. 6 Wildcats pull out a 103–100 win over the No. 7 Tar Heels.

Kentucky freshman Malik Monk set a record with his 47-point performance against North Carolina on Saturday, and helped the No. 6 Wildcats pull out a 103–100 win over the No. 7 Tar Heels.
Monk’s 47 points were the most scored by a Kentucky freshman, and the sixth-most scored by any Kentucky player. His biggest shot came with Kentucky down 100–98 and under 20 seconds to play. Monk pulled up for a three that would give the Wildcats the lead for good.

He also toyed with defenders on the way to 47.
