Lynn sets NJIT's career scoring mark in win over Dean

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Damon Lynn scored 15 points, all on 3-pointers, and became NJIT's career-scoring leader in the Highlanders' 92-50 win over Dean College on Thursday.

Lynn's fifth 3 gave NJIT a 65-24 lead with 18:31 to play and gave him 2,030 career points, two more than Clearance Pierce.

Chris Jenkins made 5 of 9 from the field, including four 3-pointers, and had 14 points, Taj Price scored 13 and Tim Coleman had eight points with 12 rebounds for the Highlanders (6-8).

Seven of NJIT's first eight field goals were 3s, including three by Jenkins and two by Lynn, and a conventional 3-point play by Rob Ukawuba gave the Highlanders a 28-13 lead with 11:58 left in the half. Osa Izevbuwa hit a jumper to make it 56-19 about 10 minutes later and NJIT cruised from there.

Aziz Gilliam had 17 points and Naquwan Solomon scored 15 for Dean, a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
