SIU seeks improvement in Hill's second season

(STATS) - Southern Illinois will play five home games and visit Memphis as part of coach Nick Hill's second season this year.

The Salukis announced an 11-game schedule Tuesday, starting with a Sept. 9 season opener against Mississippi Valley State.

They will make the trip to Memphis of the American Athletic Conference on Sept. 23 before starting play in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, including home games against Northern Iowa (Sept. 30), Illinois State (Oct. 14, Homecoming), Missouri State (Nov. 4) and Youngstown State (Nov. 11).

The Salukis finished 4-7, including 2-6 in the MVFC, in Hill's first season.
