Florida center John Egbunu will be sidelined for the rest of the 2016–17 season after suffering a torn left ACL during Tuesday night's game against Auburn.

Egbunu went down in the first half of the 15th-ranked Gators' 114–95 win over Auburn on Tuesday night. He had 10 points and four rebounds before going down after a battle for a rebound midway through the half. Egbunu was helped off the court and toward the locker room.

"We're all disappointed for John," Florida coach Mike White said. "He's been playing really well of late, so it's a tough blow to him and our team. He's a great young man, and unfortunately injuries are a part of basketball. He'll be back even stronger."

The 6' 11", 255-pound redshirt junior was the Gators' leading rebounder at 6.6 per game and also averaged 7.8 points. He started 19 games this year.
