Austin Peay seeks growth in 2017

(STATS) - Austin Peay will face a pair of FBS programs for the third straight season whiles it tries to rebuild its struggling program under second-year coach Will Healy.

The Governors went 0-11 last season as Healy began to position his team around a young nucleus.

This year, they will open the season at Cincinnati on Aug. 31 and Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 9 before facing FCS opponents in the remainder of their 11-game schedule.

Included are five home games at Fortera Stadium: against Morehead State (Sept. 16) and Ohio Valley Conference members UT Martin (Sept. 30), Jacksonville State (Oct. 7), Southeast Missouri State (Oct. 21) and Eastern Illinois (Nov. 18).
