Two Delaware players deemed academically ineligible

(STATS) - Delaware senior running back Wes Hills and senior linebacker Larry Spears have been deemed academically ineligible for the 2017 season, the university announced Wednesday.

Neither player will return to competition with the team.

Hills led the team with 728 rushing yards and scored seven touchdowns last season. Spears had 11 tackles.

Delaware, a CAA Football member, is trying to rebound from back-to-back 4-7 seasons. Former Liberty and Richmond coach Danny Rocco is in his first season guiding the Blue Hens.
