Oklahoma Starting Running Back Rodney Anderson Accused of Rape
Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson is accused of raping a woman after they met at a bar on Nov. 16, Norman police told The Oklahoman.
A victim’s protective order was filed against Anderson on Monday, court records show. Anderson is due in court for a hearing that will determine if the order is extended on Dec. 18, two weeks before the Sooners’ College Football Playoff semifinal game against Georgia.
The woman alleges Anderson bit, raped and sexually assaulted her with his fingers at her apartment.
“I remember feeling like I couldn't get away,” the woman wrote when filing the petition for a protective order. “He knows where I live and I'm scared for my safety.”
“The allegations are patently false,” an attorney for Anderson said in a statement.
Anderson is Oklahoma’s leading rusher, with 960 yards on 162 carries and 11 touchdowns, though he did not become the primary ballcarrier until the second half of the season. The redshirt sophomore also has 16 catches for 283 yards and five scores.
“We’re aware and are gathering more information,” a school spokesman told the Oklahoman after the order was issued.
