Two programs that have historically had explosive offenses will clash when Texas Tech heads to Waco to take on Baylor. With Baylor being tied atop the Big 12 in the early stages of conference play and Texas Tech coming off of a big home win for its first conference victory, both squads come into this matchup riding a wave of momentum.

Texas Tech earned a win over a then-ranked Oklahoma State team its last time out for its first win of the Big 12 campaign. The Red Raiders put up 586 yards of total offense in that contest and won the turnover battle by a 5-0 margin. Those turnovers helped Texas Tech get out to a 20-0 lead, which they held onto in a 45-35 victory. The Red Raiders have yet to get a win away from home this season, dropping road games against Arizona and Oklahoma in their two road games so far.

Baylor picked up its second win in conference play last week when it took out Kansas State on the road in a 31-12 drubbing. The Bears’ defense was on the field for over 36 minutes in that game but managed to keep Kansas State out of the endzone until just six minutes remained. Matt Rhule’s team is 5-0 on the season and tied with Oklahoma and Texas with a 2-0 record at the top of the Big 12 standings.
