Harbaugh Says NFL Interest in Him, Michigan an ‘Ongoing, Positive Thing’

It’s been a long offseason for Michigan fans with rumors swirling of coach Jim Harbaugh possibly returning to the NFL. Now that all of the NFL coaching jobs are filled, they can rest easy knowing their coach is returning—for now.

“It’s an ongoing thing, something we treat as a really positive thing that NFL teams have an interest in all our personnel,” Harbaugh said last week, per ESPN

This not only applies to himself, but to former Wolverines defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. The 39-year-old used to be an assistant for the Ravens on John Harbaugh’s staff before taking the DC job in Michigan and was rumored to be a candidate for the Eagles DC job before Sean Desai was hired.

Harbaugh interviewed for the Broncos job in January but it eventually went to Sean Payton. In 2022, he also interviewed for the Vikings’ coaching vacancy. While he’s returning to Michigan yet again for the 2023 season, the former 49ers coach appears to still be interested to a return to the NFL.
