Deion Sanders Undergoes Successful Second Surgery for Blood Clots

The football world received extremely positive news regarding the health status of Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders on Friday.

According to a social media post by girlfriend Tracey Edmonds, the Hall of Fame cornerback is safely recovering from his second successful surgery to remove blood clots in his right leg.

On Friday, Edmonds expressed her gratitude for the entire hospital staff for another successful surgery for Coach Prime via her Instagram.

“Thank you Lord for another successful surgery!!,” Edmonds wrote. “We thank you for giving #CoachPrime @deionsanders the strength to fight these challenges and we have Faith that you will give him the VICTORY! We are so GRATEFUL for all the doctors, nurses, and staff who have blessed him on his road to recovery!”

Edmonds also took the time to thank all of the fans of Sanders for their uplifting prayers and support as the Buffaloes coach battles though his medical condition.

“And we thank ALL OF YOU for your BEAUTIFUL prayers!” she added. “They bring tears to my eyes when I read them and they fill us with HOPE and STRENGTH! God bless all of you!”

Due to the procedure, Sanders was unable to attend the Pac-12 media day in Las Vegas on Friday. In his place, Colorado defensive coordinator Charles Kelly stepped in.

Earlier this week, the two-time Super Bowl champion addressed his condition via video posted on his Instagram page and apologized for not being able to attend the Pac-12 media day. However, Coach Prime did make a promise to all Colorado fans.

“I promise you that when we go out to TCU, I’m running out in front of our team,” he said. “I promise you that.”
