Iowa Marching Band Paid Tribute to Caitlin Clark With Incredible Halftime Show

Saturdays in September may be dedicated to college football, but that didn’t stop Iowa’s marching band from getting a head start on basketball season with a shoutout to the campus’s biggest star: Caitlin Clark.

Saturday’s home contest between No. 25 Iowa (2–0) and Western Michigan (1–1) featured a special tribute to the Iowa women’s basketball superstar during the halftime show.

Complete with a giant replica of Clark’s No. 22 jersey, Iowa’s band incredibly morphed into the shape of the reigning Naismith Player of the Year shooting a three-pointer.

Naturally, the shot, presumably a recreation of one of Clark’s many clutch moments, splashed through the net, much to the delight of the raucous, sell-out crowd

As one of the biggest names in college sports, Clark will enter her senior season having truly reached rockstar status following Iowa’s successful run, a stretch that, at times, has seen the dynamic guard singlehandedly outshine the football team.

Needless to say, in case there was any doubt of her stardom, show-stopping displays like Saturday’s homage further demonstrate just how beloved the 21-year-old is both around the country and in her home state.
