Alabama Falls Out of Top 10 in Latest AP Poll

Alabama found itself in a very unusual position when the newest AP college football poll dropped on Sunday afternoon.

While the Crimson Tide survived an ugly 17-3 win against the AAC’s South Florida on Saturday, Alabama dropped from No. 10 to No. 13 this week, marking its first time outside of the top 10 since 2015. The Crimson Tide held a spot in the top 10 for 128 consecutive weeks, the second longest streak in AP poll history behind Miami's 137 consecutive weeks from 1985 to ’93.

Colorado dropped one spot to No. 19 after Deion Sanders's squad pulled off a 43-35 double overtime victory against Colorado State in The Rocky Mountain Showdown. Texas and Florida State switched spots among the poll’s top five as the Longhorns overcame a slow start against Wyoming to get a 31-10 victory.

The Seminoles survived a close game against Boston College, winning 31-29 on Saturday afternoon. Florida found itself back in AP poll after defeating Tennessee in “The Swamp” while the Volunteers dropped from No. 11 to No. 23 in this week’s poll.
